Ma’ayan, Soaring Prayers

In the peaceful stillness before the city comes fully to life, worshippers gather at the Kotel to greet the rising sun with prayer. As the first light spreads across Jerusalem, flocks of birds mysteriously circle overhead, creating what feels like a living canopy above the congregation. Their graceful flight inspired the artist to imagine them carrying the prayers of those assembled ever higher toward Heaven.

The composition reflects this remarkable encounter between the earthly and the Divine. Below, the worshippers are rendered as simplified silhouettes, emphasizing the unity of the praying community rather than individual identity. Above them, luminous white doves soar effortlessly through radiant blues and warm golden light, becoming visual symbols of prayers ascending beyond the physical world.
